Cash Generator help raise over £20,000 for Manchester Kids charity
The 2007 Great Manchester Run which took place on Sunday 20th May saw 30,000 runners take part this year and over 50,000 spectators line the streets of Manchester to watch the race.
In an attempt to raise funds for the Manchester Kids charity throughout April and May, Cash Generator have been sponsoring Mcr kids in association with Key 103, Manchesters no.1 radio station, in order to get together more than 150 runners to raise funds for children across the region. After sponsoring radio airtime to encourage runners and donations and even going to the trouble of covering a big jeep with the charity logos to be driven around the city, Cash Generator are absolutely delighted to have helped raise more than £20,000 for such a great cause.
This follows on from Cash Generators Toy Appeal throughout November and December of 2006 in which the stores across the region managed to collect and donate over 3,000 toys for those children across the city who otherwise may not have had a present to open on Christmas day.
The main priority for Manchester Kids is to help local children lead a better life. Focus is placed on projects that help alleviate situations of poverty, abuse, distress and neglect or to help provide better recreational facilities. A unique difference with this charity is that all the money raised stays in the local area.
Please see our 'thank you' release below to all runners who took part.
